Moray Community Terms

1. What these terms cover

Moray is an aquarium planning app operated by Ofek Moalem, Israel ("we"). To contact us:

Your licence to use the app itself is granted under Apple's standard licence agreement for the App Store, which applies to the whole app. The agreement is available at:

These terms add to it, and deal with two things: the information the app shows, and the community. Using the community means you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not publish in the community.

2. What the app gives you, and what it does not

Moray helps you plan an aquarium: it checks whether species get along, estimates the load on the tank, and suggests a shopping list and a care routine.

The information is general information for hobbyists, not professional or veterinary advice. It is collected from public sources, and any of them can be wrong. Animals are living creatures, and every fish, plant and coral responds differently. Water quality, equipment, where the animals came from and how they are cared for all affect the result, and we have no control over any of them. Even when the app shows no warning, that is no promise the combination will work. Before buying, also ask the shop or an expert.

The risk marks in the catalogue (such as venomous, spines or poisoning risk) appear where we know that an injury from the animal may need a doctor. An animal without a mark can still sting or bite, and sometimes that also needs a doctor. The list is not complete, and you should always find out before touching an animal.

Answers that other users write in the community are also the opinions of hobbyists, not professional advice. We do not check them and are not responsible for whether they are correct.

3. The community

3.1 Who can take part

Reading the community is open to everyone. To publish you must be 16 or older and sign in with your Apple account. If we learn that someone younger has published, we will remove what they published.

3.2 What you may not publish

Content that is illegal, offensive, threatening, harassing, racist or sexual.
Other people's personal information, such as a phone number, an address or a photo of a person without their consent.
Content that is not yours and that you have no permission to publish, such as other people's photos.
Advertising, spam or links for selling.
Offers to sell or buy animals whose sale is banned in your country.
Pretending to be another person or a shop.

3.3 Your content

What you publish stays yours. By publishing it you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store it, show it to community users and adapt how it is displayed to the app, for as long as it is published. Another user can copy a tank you shared into their own private plan in the app, and the copy stays with them even if you delete the share.

You are responsible for what you publish. If someone claims that content you published infringes their rights, the responsibility is yours.

3.4 Moderation and reporting

Offensive words are filtered when something is published, and photos go through an automatic check. Any user can report content, hide it and block another user. We may remove any content that breaks these terms, and limit or block a user who breaks them, without notice. Content reported by three different users is hidden automatically until we review it.

3.5 Deleting

You can delete a post from the post itself, from the feed or from your community profile, and delete your account and everything you published at once from Settings. The details are in the privacy policy.

4. The catalogue and the images

The app, its code, its texts, the catalogue as an organised database, its design, the name Moray and its logo belong to us or to whoever allowed us to use them, and are protected by intellectual property law.

The species images in the catalogue were created with artificial intelligence tools and are meant as illustrations. We hold every right the law gives us in them. Regardless of the question of rights, you undertake, as part of these terms, not to copy, download, save, distribute or use the images or the catalogue data outside the app, and not to extract information from them automatically. The permitted use is personal use inside the app only.

5. Changes, and ending the community

We may change the community, add or remove features, and end it. If we change these terms in a material way, we will say so in the app. Continuing to publish in the community after that notice means you agree to the new terms.

These terms are governed by Israeli law, and the competent courts in Israel have jurisdiction, subject to the rights the law in your country gives you as a consumer that cannot be waived by agreement.
